Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is a form of walking using special poles which are not grasped firmly but rather allowed to swing alongside one’s body with every step. It’s an ideal form of gentle exercise and is lots of fun, too.

You can explore South Tyrol with your Nordic Walking poles, visit the Nordic Fitness Parks, or simply stroll across the sunlight-dappled floor of the forest in the quiet of morning or march over the verdant Alpine meadows in the afternoon. South Tyrol – A Magical Paradise of Variety.
Nordic Walking is a form of exercise which reduces the mechanical burden (impact) on your bones and joints. Your locomotive system is subjected to up to 30% less stress than is the case with other forms of physical exercise. Nordic Walking is thus especially well-suited for persons with knee and back problems, and is the best form of outdoor sport for rehabilitation after sport injuries. It actively supports the respiratory musculature and thus the breathing process; your entire body is therefore furnished with lots of oxygen. Additionally, Nordic Walking is more effective than ordinary walking without poles. That’s because the use of these special poles helps support the spinal column, the knee joints, and the ankles. You consume more energy, burn more fat, and more-quickly build up stamina and fitness. Furthermore, the Nordic Walking poles provide greater safety when traversing uneven terrain or walking through mud and snow.
