The Hotel Astor – Your Residence in the Kronplatz / Plan de Corones Ski Area

Olang/Valdaora is located directly at the aerial lifts which will take you to the ski slopes of the Kronplatz / Plan de Corones, the ultimate winter sport El Dorado of South Tyrol in the Dolomites. South Tyrol’s pre-eminent skiing mountain boasts modern aerial lifts, and more than 100 km of perfectly groomed slopes of all degrees of difficulty (from “easy” to “challenging.”) And snow is guaranteed at Dolomiti Superski from December till April. Skiing enthusiasts will find all they could wish for here, with terrain including gentle, rolling hills and steep slopes for downhill skiers. And speaking of downhill skiing: From the Kronplatz / Plan de Corones to Olang/Valdaora, you can ski 6.5 km, with 1,170 meters of altitude differential; to St. Vigil, it’s 6 km, with an altitude differential of 1,070 meters. The Silvester and Hernegg slopes offer an especially thrilling downhill skiing experience: They are 5 km long and feature more than 1,300 meters of altitude differential from the summit to the valley station in Reischach/Riscone – they shouldn’t be missed! And don’t forget to take along your Dolomiti Superski Pass: A single Ski Pass permitting you to move freely within twelve large ski areas boasting more than 1,200 kilometers of slopes.

There is also the possibility to make the famous Sellaronda starting directlly from Kronplatz. There are gratis shuttle busses.


Project Ried:
From the season 2011-2012 there will be another special slope on the Kronplatz: it is 7 km long and the ski-lift which brings you back to the top after 7 km of skiingis is one of the most modern ones that exist all over the world.
