Dolomites, Alps and mountain lakes
Val Pusteria awaits you with idyllic pastures, majestic mountains, the national parks Fanes Senes Braies, Tre Cime & Vedrette di Ries-Aurina and romantic lakes. The pastures of Valdaora and Val Casies invite you to hikes with culinary delights in the alpine huts. If you love the mountains start at Valdaora to the Three Peaks, the Sella group, Tofana, the Sesto sundial, Croda Rossa, Dürrenstein, Plan de Corones and further Dolomite peaks. From Valle Aurina the world of the Zillertal Alps and stunning tours in the mountains above 3000 m open up. Particularly impressive are the mountain lakes: from our hotel you can reach the lakes Lago di Braies, Lago di Dobbiaco, Lago di Anterselva and Lago di Missurina or the Sorapis Lake.
Prato Piazza with its stunning views, the majestic Three Peaks and the gigantic Sella group, the Dolomites glow, the naturally formed pyramids in Perca and the idyllic mountain lakes are wonders of nature and well worth a visit.
Towns and villages
Brunico, San Candido, Bressanone, Vipiteno, Bolzano, Merano and Lienz are ideal for shopping. There are also many markets in the region. Customs and traditions can be experienced during the processions and Christian festivals in the villages. The fairs on the meadows, the Standlschmaus food fair and the street kitchens also have their own flair.
Castles and museums
After a glorious career as a mountaineer Reinhold Messner began to devote his energy to the development of a series of museums on the topic of the mountains: on Brunico Castle, on Plan de Corones and at Cortina three museums await your visit. A further three are found at Bolzano and in Val Venosta. Tures Castle excites with a beautiful castle, frescoes and an impressive armoury. With its mining world and a climate tunnel Predoi offers two highlights in Valle Aurina. In the Bolzano Archaeology museum you can admire Ötzi the ice mummy; the gardens at Trauttmansdorff Castle near Merano are all about plants and flowers. Customs and cultures can be discovered in the ethnological museum in Teodone and in the Museum ladin 'Ciastel de Tor' near San Martin.
